TeleYemen company denies Saudi allegations trying to justify bombing of telecommunication building

Yemeni communications company TeleYemen for International Telecommunications and Internet has on Monday denied tye news that is being circulated in some media about the use of the company’s website for military purposes.

This came in the company’s statement at a press conference held by the Ministry of Telecommunications on Monday, in the ruins of the TeleYemen’s building, which had been targeted by the Saudi-led coalition warplanes last night.

The company stated that the targeted building contains technical and basic equipment to provide international communications and internet service.

The targeting of the TeleYemen building resulted in the complete destruction of all technical equipment and the building itself, and in the interruption of international communication services, the statement added.

For his part, Minister of Telecommunications Misfer al-Numair confirmed that “this attack is part of a series of systematic targeting of communications and internet services in Yemen.”
