Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said on Friday that “Russia is ready to send a delegation to Kiev for talks with the Ukrainian government,” a day after Moscow launched a large-scale military operation against Ukraine.
Zakharova confirmed in a press statement that “Russia is ready to send a delegation that includes officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defence and the Russian Presidency.”
This comes hours after Kremlin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced to Russian news agencies that Russia is ready to send a delegation that includes officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defence.
Peskov said that “disarmament should be an essential part” of negotiations.
