Several leaders of Al-Qaeda have arrived in Sunday in Seiyun city, the capital of the oil-rich Hadhramaut province in eastern Yemen.

Well-informed sources reported that leaders of al-Qaeda arrived in Seiyun coming from Ma’rib and Abyan provinces with some of their armed followers, joining the headquarters of the “First Military Region” loyal to military leader Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar.

This comes after the confrontations that erupted between the 37th Armoured Brigade troops affiliated with Islah Party (Muslim Brotherhood) and tribal gunmen last weekend in Al-Khasha’a area, which left eight dead and wounded, in addition to the destruction of a tank and a military vehicle belonging to the Brigade.

The UAE is seeking to expel Islah troops from Hadhramaut valley by financing tribes loyal to the separatist Southern Transitional Council (STC) that are demanding the exit of the First Military Region forces
