Russia puts strategic missile force, navy fleets and aviation units on highest alert

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu has on Monday told President Vladimir Putin about the readiness of the Strategic Missile Forces as well as the Northern and Pacific Fleets and the long-range aviation units.

On Sunday, President Putin directed the Russian Defence Ministry to declare a state of highest alert for all strategic deterrent forces of the Russian army. Putin’s directives came against the backdrop of statements by NATO officials against Russia.

Several NATO member states have been threatening the Russian Federation with regime change, subversion and even all-out war recently, following Russia’s denazification campaign in Ukraine.

Russia declared a military operation against the Ukrainian government of Volodymir Zelensky and the fascist armed groups backing him on February 24, following over seven years of Ukrainian attacks against the People’s Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk.
