Armed clashes between mercenary groups erupt in occupied city of Al-Khokha

Armed clashes erupted on Wednesday in Al-Khokha city in Hodeidah province, western Yemen, between UAE-backed forces led by Tariq Afash and the so-called Tihama Brigades militants, which left several dead and wounded.

According to local sources, the clashes broke out after the Tihama Brigades militants refused orders issued by Tariq Afash.

The Tihama militants set up several military points at the entrance of Al-Khokha city, in anticipation of any reinforcements for the Afash loyalist forces coming from Mocha city of Taiz province.

Al-Khokha has been witnessing military tensions between the Afash forces and the Tihama Brigades militants over the past two years, amid the latter’s demands for Afash forces to leave the region of Tihama.
