At least one Syrian army officer and one soldier were killed on Tuesday, in an attack by US-backed militiamen of the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on a checkpoint of the Syrian Arab Army in Tal Tamer area in the northwestern countryside of Hasaka, the Syrian Arab News Agency reported, citing a military source.
According to the military sources, around 2:00 PM on Tuesday, a patrol of US occupation forces, accompanied by a group of SDF militiamen, attempted to enter through checkpoints of the Syrian army in Ghouzalya village of Tal Tamer countryside in Hasaka.
“Members of the Syrian Arab army prevented the US occupation patrol from penetrating through the points and forced it to leave. Soon after, SDF militiamen attacked the mentioned site with machinegun fire and mortars, leading to the martyrdom of two soldiers, one of them an officer,” the source added.
