Yemeni Ministry of Health condemns humanitarian organisations for not taking up responsibility

The spokesman for the Ministry of Health in Sana’a revealed on Saturday the involvement of the United Nations as a partner of the Saudi-led coalition in imposing the siege on the Yemeni people.

Dr. Anis al-Asbahi, said in a statement, the United Nations is an accomplice in the crime committed by coalition forces against the Yemenis.

“We do not count on the international organisations much, as they have witnessed the catastrophic situation for 7 years, and we have not seen any responsible move from them,” he added.

Al-Asbahi called on international organisations to play their humanitarian role and to put pressure on the coalition countries to leave humanitarian matters out of the war and to bring back oil derivatives to Yemen.

He also called for the opening of Sana’a airport and Hodeidah port in order to allow the entry of medical equipment.

The spokesman pointed out that the health sector needs more than 6 million liters of diesel to operate hospitals, oxygen factories, and other facilities.

He confirmed that 2,000 children need ventilators and their lives are at risk due to the denial of access to oil derivatives for fuel.

The Minister of Health has contacted international organisations to brief them on the catastrophic medical situation in Yemen, al-Asbahi added.
