Saudi Arabia is reportedly trying to acquire Russian and Chinese defence systems, after the US Patriot system failed to counter the missile and drone attacks launched by Yemeni forces on Saudi military sites and oil installations.
The Tactical Report intelligence website, which specialises in providing intelligence on the Middle East, reported that there are ongoing talks between the Saudi Ministry of Defence and China to buy air defence systems.
The website added that the negotiations include the purchase of a system produced by the Chinese company CPMIEC, which was first revealed in 2009.
