Dozens of Saudi-led forces killed in Yemeni attack near Ma'rib

Fierce fighting erupted on Wednesday between the Yemeni army forces on one side and Saudi-led coalition forces and their mercenaries on the other, south of Ma’rib city, amid reports of dozens of dead and wounded on both sides.

Local sources in Ma’rib told Yemen Press Agency that the Yemeni army forces launched a large-scale military attack from positions they had taken control of in recent days, towards the coalition’s positions in the Falaj area.

According to the sources, about 60 coalition gunmen were killed or wounded, while hundreds of others fled their positions.

This comes one week after Yemeni forces took control of the strategic Al-Aref area, southwest of the city.

The forces of aggression reportedly attempted to provide aerial support to their troops by launching dozens of airstrikes, but failed to hinder the progress of the Yemeni Armed Forces and Popular Committees.
