Ansarullah refuses meeting in Riyadh for peace negotiations, calls for neutral location

A senior leader in Ansarullah’s Political Bureau, Mohammed al-Bukhiti, has commented on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)’s remarks, regarding possibly inviting Ansarullah to consultations in the Saudi capital of Riyadh later this month.

In a tweet on Thursday, Muhammad al-Bukhiti confirmed that the GCC call for dialogue is “not serious and unrealistic.”

“We have previously rejected dialogue in Riyadh because Saudi Arabia is a biased country, so how can we accept this when it has become an aggressor? Since Saudi Arabia has become a party to the war, the dialogue should occur with them, but not under its sponsorship,” he said.

“We have already called for a Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue in a neutral country with the aim of uniting Yemenis to meet external challenges aimed at occupying Yemen,” he said, stressing that “the aim of the aggression’s countries is to invite Yemenis to dialogue under their guardianship at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Riyadh, thus circumventing any real Yemeni dialogue in the hands of Yemenis themselves.”
