Hezbollah categorically denies claims of sending troops to support Russia in Ukraine

Hezbollah Secretary General, Sayyid Hasan Nasrallah has on Friday categorically denied media reports which alleged that a number of Hezbollah fighters and military experts are fighting in Ukraine alongside the Russian Armed Forces.

Addressing the Al-Mahdi Scouts Anniversary Ceremony, Sayyid Nasrallah said that some Arab channels had circulated rumors, alleged to be quoting Ukrainian Military Staff claiming that Hezbollah dispatched fighters and military experts.

“I categorically deny such rumors. These are baseless lies and rumors. Hezbollah did not dispatch any fighter or expert to Ukraine.”

Sayyid Nasrallah warned against similar media rumors about any alleged Hezbollah participation in the Ukrainian conflict, confirming that they are false.

Meanwhile, Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah called on the Lebanese government to form an emergency committee in order to cope with the economic repercussions of the war in Ukraine, pertaining mainly to the prices of the basic commodities.
