Kuwaiti government collapses after only three months in power

The Kuwaiti government has resigned on Tuesday, merely three months after its formation, due to an escalating political crisis between the government and Kuwait’s National Assembly.

“Crown Prince Sheikh Mashal al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah received Sheikh Sabah Khalid al-Hamad al-Sabah, Prime Minister, at the palace of Bayan this afternoon, whom offered his resignation and that of his cabinet members to the Crown Prince,” the official KUNA news agency reported.

The new government was sworn in on December 29th, becoming the fourth government to take over the executive branch in the Gulf state in just two and a half years.
