Saudi Arabia seizes yet another fuel ship bound for Yemen in clear violation of UN truce

he Yemen Petroleum Company (YPC) said that the Saudi-led coalition had seized a fuel tanker in violation of the UN-declared ceasefire while it was bound for Yemen’s Hodeidah port, despite having obtained a UN permit.

“Tightening the noose around the Yemeni people, in clear violation of the declared UN armistice, the US-led aggression coalition today detained the diesel ship Daytona, despite it having been inspected and obtained United Nations entry permits,” the official spokesman for the Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC), Essam al-Mutawakel, said in a statement, carried out by the official Yemeni news agency Saba on Wednesday .

Al-Mutawakel considered the detention of the ship “a clear violation of the UN armistice, which is supposed to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people,” noting that number of detained ships reached three oil ships, all of them having been inspected and holding UN permits.
