Unknown gunmen targeted a security patrol of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia in the city of Aden, southern Yemen, on Wednesday.
Local sources in the city reported that the gunmen targeted a security patrol of the STC militia with two hand grenades in Al-Mansoura area.
The security patrol was parking next to one of the shopping malls in Al-Mansoura, and the explosion caused a state of terror and panic among the citizens, the sources added.
The sources stated that the explosion was followed by clashes in the vicinity of the commercial market, all the way to the Caltex round.
The sources attributed the causes of the clashes to the prosecution of those accused of burning the car of a citizen in Enma neighbourhood on Tuesday.
