An Emirati officer was shot dead by a militant affiliated with the Saudi-led coalition forces at Ataq Airport in the southern province of Shabwah.
This was reported by Yemen News Portal on Monday, based on the testimonies of local sources.
According to a local source, the Saudi-backed soldier killed the Emirati officer in response to an “insult and humiliation” by him.
The sources pointed out that other gunmen arrested the recruit, who is belonging to Al-al-Awaliq area, and taken him to an unknown destination.
Saudi and Emirati forces were stationed at Ataq Airport after the ouster of the former governor of Shabwah, Mohammed Saleh bin Adio and the appointment of another loyalist to the UAE in late December 2021.
