President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi sl-Mashat, has on Sunday sent a cable of congratulations to the President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Bashar al-Assad, on the occasion of the Syrian people’s celebrations of Evacuation Day, a holiday that commemorates the withdrawal of French colonial forces from Syria in 1946.
In the cable, President al-Mashat expressed his congratulations to President al-Assad, wishing him good health and security, stability and development for the Syrian people.
He voiced his confident that that the Syrian people, under President Al-Assad’s wise leadership, would once again celebrate “a glorious Feast of Evacuation by expelling the last American soldier from Syria.”
President al-Mashat furthermore said that he highly valued the fraternal stances of the Syrian government and people towards Yemen, which serve to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
