Saudi Arabia frantically trying to salvage failing Yemeni puppet government consultations

Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Yemen, Mohammed al-Jaber, has on Saturday banned a pro-Yemeni authority official from traveling through Aden Airport, in a bid to prevent the collapse of Riyadh consultations.

According to aviation sources, the directives ruled that the coalition operations room, run by Saudi officers, must agree on the travel of any government, parliament or presidential council officials, adding that airport authorities had prevented dozens of officials from travelling in the past hours because they did not receive coalition approval.

Saudi Arabia’s decision came as Saudi-backed lawmakers and Shura Council officials began to leave the city for their new permanent residences in either Egypt or Jordan, which heralds the complete failure of the Saudi attempts to build a credible puppet government, despite having spent millions of riyals in this project.

Ambassador al-Jaber appeared in a television interview hinting at possible Saudi support for the secession of Southern Yemen, in a move described as a threat to the forces that left Aden, which has been a UAE policy for years. It is possible that Saudi Arabia, finally understanding the futility of establishing a government that could claim legitimate rule over all of Yemen, is now plotting to break Yemen apart and start a puppet state in the South.
