Saudi occupation forces in Socotra attacked by unknown assailants

Saudi occupation forces on the Yemeni island of Socotra have been attacked by unknown assailants on Friday.

Local sources on the island reported that gunmen in a car heavily opened fire at soldiers from the Saudi 808 Duty Forces that were stationed near the Hobeik point on the outskirts of Hadibo, the capital of the island. The reports state that the gunmen may possibly belonged to a UAE-backed militia.

The United Arab Emirates occupation forces in the region have recently pushed elements of its militias to burn all government documents belonging to the Socotra governor, as well as to destroy all administrative offices.

Last year, Emirati forces were able to expel the so-called Saudi 808 Duty Forces from Hadibo Airport, and incited the Southern Transitional Council militia to expel them from the island entirely. The UAE is aiming at a full acquisition and annexation of the island, after they established a joint military base with the Zionist entity’s navy over the past two years.
