Saudi forces seize new oil shipment vessel bound for Yemen

The Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC) in Sana’a has on Friday announced that the Saudi-led coalition has detained a new fuel ship, named Pericles, and prevented it from reaching the port of Hodeidah.

The company’s spokesman, Essam al-Mutawakel, said in a tweet that “the US-Saudi-led coalition seized the Pericles, which was carrying 30,597 tons of diesel, and prevented it from reaching the port of Hodeidah, despite it having been inspected and having obtained an entry permit from the United Nations.”

He called on the international community, humanitarian and international organisations to put pressure on the coalition to force it to abide by the UN-declared truce and to release oil derivative vessels.
