The Grand Mufti of Oman, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al-Khalili, has on Sunday called on the Muslim community across the world to show their anger against those who insult the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad, may peace be upon him.
The statement came after insulting comments by an Indian official in which he insulted the Prophet.
Prominent Indian politician Naveen Kumar Jindal, Delhi spokesman of of the ruling Bharariya Janata Party, wrote in a tweet on his official account on Twitter, insulting the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, regarding his marriage to his wife Aisha.
The Grand Mufti of Oman added that this is a matter that “necessitates that all Muslims should rise as one nation to stop this blatant aggression against the nation of Islam and its Prophet.”
The Indian politician’s tweet aroused the anger of Muslims around the world, considering what he is doing is a transgression of red lines, especially as India is witnessing an unprecedented wave of hatred and pressure against Muslims there.
The BJP has meanwhile responded by expelling Naveen Kumar from its ranks.
