All-out strike hits Taiz in protest against high crime level

An all-out strike has hit the city of Taiz, which is under the control of the Islah Party forces, in a protest against the extortion and harassment of by armed gangs in the city.

Traders have stepped up their strike and closed shops on the main streets of the city centre. The merchants demanded the arrest of armed gangs that impose royalties and forced bribes on them.

They stressed that the members and leaders of these gangs are known to the security forces, noting that these authorities have not done anything to stop the crimes.
