Saudi-led coalition violates UN-declared truce in Yemen 160 times

The US-backed Saudi-led coalition forces and their mercenaries committed 160 violations of the UN-brokered humanitarian and military truce during the past 24 hours, the official Yemeni news agency Saba reported, citing a military source on Sunday.

According to the source, the the coalition’s violations included  72  sorties of armed reconnaissance and spy planes over the provinces of Ma’rib, Taiz, Hajjah, Jawf, Saada, and Bayda, and the border fronts.

The coalition forces created fortifications around the city of Ma’rib, while an air strike by armed reconnaissance aircraft hit the homes of citizens and the sites of the army and the popular committees in Tina area of Hajjah, according the source.

He confirmed that 67 violations by shooting intensively at the homes of citizens and the positions of the army and the popular committees were recorded in the provinces of Ma’rib, Taiz, Hajjah, Saada and Dhalea, and the border fronts.

The violations also included 19 breaches with artillery shelling on the sites of the army and the popular committees in Al-Balaq Al-Sharqi and Mala’a areas in Ma’rib, other sites in Haradh, Al-Mazraq and Bani Hassan in Hajjah, in Al-Malahidh and Al-Madafin areas in Saada, and in Tabat Kamel and Al-Amud in Wadi Jarah in Jizan region.

It is worth noting that the coalition forces committed 6,322 violations during the past two months of the UN armistice time before the extension.
