Saudi-led forces release captured fuel ship but still keep one more in captivity

The Yemen Petroleum Company (YPC) has on Friday announced that the Saudi-led coalition has released a detained fuel vessel but still keeps another one in captivity.

The company’s official spokesman Essam Al-Mutawakel stated that “in conjunction with the release of the Voice Energy, an oil ship, the coalition forces seized another ship called Uhud, which is carrying 30,929 tons of gasoline, in a new violation of the declared UN armistice.”

The spokesman of YPC has renewed the demand of the international community, the UN Security Council, and international human rights organisations to pressure the US-Saudi aggression coalition into stopping their acts of piracy.

Despite the ongoing UN-sponsored truce, the coalition of aggression continues detaining fuel ships, preventing them from entering the port of Hodeidah, despite these vessels having undergone inspection and receiving UN clearance.

This violation aggravates the humanitarian catastrophe due to the suspension of many vital service sectors, especially hospitals, electricity, water, cargo trucks, as well as waste collection.
