A petroleum company in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden has pumped quantities of poor fuel quality into several stations in the city.
The sources explained that citizens complained of cars suffering problems and failures due to the use of contaminated fuel, which resulted in wear, premature engine failure and decreased performance
The sources pointed out that after the examination of their cars it became clear that the fuel was carrying an unusually strange colour and contained materials that can destroy the engines.
In resposne, hundreds of people have staged a sit-in with their cars along the sea road from Khormaksar directorate to Mansoura directorate, in protest against fuel price rises as well as the existences of fraudulent fuel scams.
