Major General, Saleh al-Sayyed, the Lahj province’s head of Security, has survived an assassination attempt in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden, local sources said on Wednesday.
According to the sources, four of al-Sayyed’s companions were killed and 12 other injured, including civilians, in a car bomb blast that targeted his convoy as he was travelling on a busy road near an educational institute in Khor Maksar district.

Meanwhile, several improvised explosives devices were found and dismantled near Bader military camp and near the scene of the explosion that targeted al-Sayyed’s convoy.
No group or individual has claimed the responsibility for the attack so far.
Several southern provinces have been witnessing insecurity and terrorist operations since the United Arab Emirates occupation forces took control over the regions.
