A powerful explosion has on Wednesday rocked areas in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden, which is control of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia.
This was reported by Yemen News Portal, based on testimonies of local sources.
According to the sources, the explosion was heard in various areas in sheikh Othman and Mansoura districts.
The sources confirmed that gunmen throwing a bomb next to a gas station in Mansoura directorate, which caused the blast.
The explosion caused fear and panic among residents in the two directorates.
The blast comes at a time when the city has been witnessing suspicious movements of the STC forces amid tensions with the head of the Saudi-formed presidential council, Rashad al-Alimi, over non-payment of their salaries.
