Yemeni Deputy FM condemns Emirati attacks on Islah Party militants

The Deputy Foreign Minister in the Sana’a National Salvation Government, Hussein al-Ezzi, has on Wednesday warned the Saudi-led coalition forces against continuing attacks on Islah Party factions in Shabwah province.

Al-Ezzi commented in a series of tweets on the raids launched by UAE aircraft against Islah Party militants in Shabwah, eastern Yemen, expressing condemnation of the shedding of Yemeni blood by any foreigner, even if those Yemenis used to work as mercenaries for Saudi Arabia.

He said: “They are still Yemenis, even if they erred against us and the right of the country. This has to be left to Yemeni laws, and no foreigner has the right to exploit the state of hostility that exists between us and them.”

Al-Ezzi added, “From this point of view, any intervention by the UAE air force in Shabwah will be considered a major breach of the armistice.”

He pointed out that this position is not meant as support for “cheap and cowardly mercenaries, but rather to express the values and principles of Yemen.”

On Tuesday, Al-Ezzi had indicated that “if Shabwah falls into the hands of the UAE tools, Hadhramaut and Abyan would fall completely and automatically, the Islah Party would end forever and history would curse it.”
