Heavy rain with thunder and lightning hits Yemen's capital

The capital, Sana’a, is currently witnessing heavy rains accompanied by strong winds and hail.

The Meteorological Center had expected, earlier today, Sunday, rain of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms and hails sometimes on the mountainous heights from Saada province in the north to Lahj and Taiz provinces in the south, extending to parts of the interior plateaus, and is sometimes heavy on parts of the northwestern and central highlands and the Tihama plain.

The center issued several warnings to citizens in the provinces where rain is expected from being in the bottoms of valleys and flood corridors and taking shelter from thunderstorms.

It also warned against the decrease in the horizontal visibility on mountain roads as a result of rain, fog and dirt plankton, as well as collapses of mud and rock slides on mountain roads.
