The United Nations has on Wednesday concluded a round of negotiations between Sana’a and the Saudi-backed government, which was devoted to discussing the mechanism for paying state employee salaries.
Diplomatic sources in the Jordanian capital of Amman stated that the tour was supervised by the UN envoy to Yemen, noting that tangible progress has been achieved in the context of unifying the revenues for paying salaries in all regions of Yemen.
The sources did not clarify the nature of the agreement, but it expected new rounds in the coming days, pointing to an international push towards proceeding with this item, paving the way for extending the truce for the coming six months.
