Rashad al-Alimi, chairman of the Riyadh Presidential Council instructed the Saudi-backed Islah militants in Abyan province, to hand over their positions and camps to the UAE-backed southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias .
Southern media, citing informed sources, reported that al-Alimi had issued direct orders to the commander of the Abyan axis to open the way for the STC forces to pass through Shuqra to the Ahwar district east of Abyan.
The STC forces entered the city of Shuqra and raised the separatist flags in its main streets and on the points of the forces loyal to “Islah” and took control of all entrances to the city.
On the other hand, the Islah militants withdrew from their positions and camps with their personal weapons, before being looted by citizens and the STC’s formations.
Moreover, the special security forces and public security forces handed over all their checkpoints to the STC forces.
