Earthquake hits coast of Socotra

An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale struck on Tuesday night off the coast of Oman and the island of Socotra, Global seismic monitoring centers reported.

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10km.

In mid-August, an earthquake measuring 4.4 Richter scale struck   off the coast of the city of Ghaydah, the capital of the province of Mahrah on the Arabian Sea, at a depth of 10 km.

Global monitoring centres have recorded 233 earthquakes and sea tremors with second, third and fourth magnitude in the past 24 hours.
