UAE occupation recruits 400 new mercenaries in Socotra

The occupation UAE forces have recruited 400 young men from the Yemeni island of Socotra, and enrolled them with their mercenaries on the island, local sources said on Thursday.

The sources added that the UAE has arranged for transferring the new recruits to the “Security Belt” camp in Hadibo city, the capital of the island, to receive training under the supervision of Emirati officers.

The UAE is moving to dispense with the services of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia, which brought them in early 2020 from Dhalea and Yafa areas, to expel Islah Party militants, according to the sources.

The UAE campaign to recruit the sons of Socotra comes after the recruitment of about 150 girls and young women from the island, their ages ranged between 15 and 22 years, and transferred last August to Abu Dhabi to receive training.
