Torrential rains plague Yemen's Lahj, one car reportedly swept away

Torrential rains on Sunday swept away a vehicle belonging to a citizen from Yafea district in Lahj province, southern Yemen.

Activists on social media circulated a video documenting the moment when the torrent rains swept away a car in the area of al-Habailin in Radfan district, and the rescue operation, which was carried out by citizens, to help the family get out of the car that was swept away by the floods.

Eyewitnesses said the torrential rains, swept away a car carrying a family consisting of a father, a mother and three children.

According to the eyewitness, the father and mother were taken out unhurt, while  the 12-year-old girl was taken out, but she had died. Later on, the body of the the five-year-old was found and  another child was still missing.
