French ambassador to Yemen meets with mercenary figures in Hadhramaut

Jean-Marie Safa, the French ambassador to Yemen, has arrived in Hadhramaut province, eastern Yemen, coming from his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, accompanied by a number of French advisers and experts, media sources reported on Monday.

The sources explained that the French ambassador met with military and political leaders from pro-coalition forces in the city of Mukalla.

They discussed ways to secure the process of looting gas exports from the Balhaf facility in the occupied province of Shabwah, which is controlled by the French company Total.

The sources confirmed that the French ambassador is seeking to have French troops, who are scheduled to arrive in Balhaf, disembark at Mukalla airport, amid fears that it will be directly bombed by Sana’a forces.
