Head of the Saudi team visiting Sana’a, Salem Al-Harbi, has expressed his thanks to the authorities in Sana’a for the good treatment of the Saudi war prisoners.
After reviewing the conditions of the Saudi prisoners in Sana’a, Al-Harbi said: “I thank you – on my own behalf and on behalf of my colleagues for the good treatment with our prisoners, and for the kind reception and hospitality. This is not surprising from you, as you are the people of generosity, and your colleagues who arrived in the Kingdom are our brothers and their place is above the head.”
For his part, the head of the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs in Sana’a, Abdulqader Al-Murtadha, explained that the purpose of the Saudi delegation’s visit is to see the conditions of their prisoners in Sana’a’s custody, and also to match and verify the names of their prisoners, in order to prepare for an exchange process in the near future, according to the UN-brokered agreement that was signed last March.
He expressed his hope that these mutual visits would be a gateway to reach a comprehensive solution to this humanitarian file.
Al-Murtadha stated that a technical team from the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs headed for Riyadh on Wednesday, to check the conditions of the Yemeni prisoners of war in Saudi Arabia.
