Child killed and four civilians injured in Taiz bomb attack

A little girl was killed and four others were injured on Wednesday when an explosive device went off in a military vehicle in center of Taiz city, southwest Yemen.

Informed sources said that unidentified gunmen detonated an explosive device in a military vehicle of Islah Party militants in Qubbat Al-Ma’swar area, which was parking in front of a restaurant. As a result, a girl was killed and four others, including a woman and a child, who happened to pass from the street at the moment of the explosion.

The sources confirmed that the girl died as a result of being hit by a fatal shrapnel in the head, while the wounded were taken to a hospital.

The explosion occurred after a number of Islah gunmen entered the restaurant to eat lunch, without injuring any of them, the sources added.

The number of terrorist bombings with improvised explosive devices increased with the UAE’s tendency to control the areas under the control of Islah in Al-Hujariyah and the city of Taiz.
