The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) threatened on Wednesday with withdrawing from the Riyadh-formed Presidential Council.
Southern media reported that Aidarous al-Zubaidi, president of STC and member of the Presidential Council, had submitted his resignation.
Sources in the government loyal to Saudi-led coalition said that al-Zubaidi had threatened to resign and put several conditions on Saudi Arabia, including allowing him to visit Hadhramaut province.
These developments come in the wake of Saudi Arabia’s allowing Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Council, to return to Aden and detain Al-Zubaidi.
