At least four members of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias were killed and others wounded in an armed attack in Abyan province, south of Yemen.
Tribal sources said unidentified persons targeted a military vehicle carrying militants in Al-Mahfad district, with an explosive device.
The STC media outlets accused al-Qaeda of being behind the attack, which is part of a series of escalating attacks against the STC militia since it announced the launch of military operation to expel the Islah factions from their last strongholds east of Abyan.
