The committee to follow up on the cases of kidnapped fishermen demanded on Tuesday that an international committee be formed to investigate all violations and crimes committed by the Saudi-led coalition against Yemeni fishermen.
This came during the committee’s meeting held in Sana’a to discuss a number of issues of concern to Yemeni fishermen and the difficulties they face.
At the meeting, the committee emphasized the right of fishermen to work and practice fishing in territorial waters as a right guaranteed by Yemeni laws, and international charters and norms.
The committee condemned the continuation of the coalition countries in targeting the fish sector and committing crimes against Yemeni fishermen.
It called on the international community to assume its responsibilities in putting pressure on the coalition countries to stop the violations against Yemeni fishermen, release all kidnapped fishermen in their prisons, and compensate for the losses incurred by the fish sector.
