The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) confirmed the increase of suicide incidents in the ranks of its militias.
This comes in light of the continued suspension of the disbursement of their salaries by the Saudi-led coalition.
Media affiliated with the STC, quoted Saleh al-Obaidi, a military photographer, as saying that he described the situation within the STC military system as “dangerous”, stressing that Suicide incidents increased among the militia.
Al-Obaidi reported that the fighters of the STC were tired of promises to pay salaries.
Earlier last week, Aden recorded a case of suicide by a member of the transitional militia.
The increase in suicide prompted Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, the chairman of the council, to announce a tribute of 150,000 riyals per conscript, but the reward was not paid.
Saudi Arabia refuses to pay the salaries of the transitional militia and uses salaries as a trump card to force it to implement its agenda, the first of which is the handing over of the city of Aden to its forces and dismantling of its militias.
