At least four UAE-backed mercenaries killed in Abyan bomb attack

At least four members of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional (STC)’s militia were killed on Friday, including commanders, and  two others wounded , in a new bomb attack in Abyan province, southern Yemen.

According to sources, an improvised explosive deceived (IED) exploded and targeted a vehicle belonging to the “First Support Brigade”, carrying Abu al-Yamamah, in the Wadi al-Khayala area of al-Mahfad district, killing four and wounding two others.

The sources identified the dead as Naeem Al-Abdali, the staff officer of a battalion in the Brigade, Bassam al-Dhalei, the commander of one of the companies, in addition to Samir al-Mallah and al-Shabwani.

This is the fifth attack since the beginning of last October in the area of Al-Mahfad, after the militia announced a military operation to clear the area of terrorist elements affiliated with Islah in the province.
