Hundreds of Yemenis in Sana’a on Tuesday attended the majestic funeral of Yemen’s great poet and writer, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Maqaleh, who passed away at the age of 85 after a life full of creative giving and struggle.
During the funeral ceremony, which was attended by members of the Supreme Political Councils, and senior government officials, the mourners expressed the enormity of the loss left by the departure of the writer, poet, and struggler Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Maqaleh.
They emphasized that Yemen and the Arab and Islamic nation, with the departure of Dr. Al-Maqaleh, lost a national, Arab, and nationalist stature, as Al-Maqaleh remained for decades a source of knowledge and a school for generations of innovators.
The mourners pointed out that Dr. Abdelaziz Al-Maqaleh represented Yemen’s cultural conscience for more than half a century, as a thinker, writer, poet, teacher, and administrator.
