The National Center of Meteorology stated on Saturday that the provinces of Dhamar, Amran, Sana’a, Saada and Bayda will witness a severe cold wave during the next 24 hours.
The lowest temperatures range in those provinces between 2-6 degrees Celsius, according to the Center.
The center expected that the weather will be relatively cold to cold in the high areas of the provinces of Ibb, Dhalea, east of Lahj province and west of Jawf and Ma’rib provinces, and the lowest temperatures will range between 6-9 degrees Celsius.
It pointed out that active winds may reach a maximum speed of 28 knots blowing over the southern Red Sea and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab strait.
The Center warned citizens, especially the elderly, children, patients, workers during the night and early morning hours, and travelers to those provinces, of the cold weather, calling for taking the necessary precautions to prevent themselves and protect agricultural crops.
It also alerted fishermen and sea-goers in the south of the Red Sea and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab of sea turbulence and high waves.
