Armed tribesmen riding a military vehicle opened fire on a checkpoint belonging to the UAE-funded “Shabwah Defense” militia on Tuesday in Nissab area, west of Ataq city, the center of Shabwah province, eastern Yemen, local sources reported.
This comes after the tribesmen plundered a number of military vehicles belonging to the UAE and fled with them to different areas, according to the sources.
On Monday, the “Shabwah Defense” militia had kidnapped 8 Islah Party militants at a point at the entrance to Ataq, who were returning from the city of Ma’rib.
