Prominent commander of Islah Party troops killed in explosive attack

Unknown gunmen on Saturday assassinated a prominent military commander affiliated with Islah Party on the outskirts of the city of Ma’rib, northeastern Yemen.

This was reported by Yemen News Portal, based on testimonies of local sources.

According to the sources, the  unknown persons targeted the operations’ officer in the Islah forces in the Al-Alam front, northeast of Ma’rib, Colonel Muath Al-Bukhaiti, with an improvised explosive device (IED) that was planted in his military vehicle while he was on his way to the front.

The death of Al-Bukhiti comes as a continuation of series of assassinations orchestrating by the UAE and carried out by the UAE-backed factions in Ma’rib city, against military commanders, the last of whom is the advisor to the Minister of Defense, Major General Mohammed Al-Jaradi.
