The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) on Friday threatened the Riyadh-formed Presidential Council, headed by Rashad Al-Alimi, and pro-coalition government with an unprecedented scenario in center of Yemen’s southern port city of Aden during the current stage.
Lotfi Shatara, member of the STC’s Presidium, said in a tweet on “Twitter”: “Aden will not be a transit capital for those who believe that the situation will continue for them to remain at the forefront of the scene,” in a threat to repeat protests of March 2021, and storm al-Ma’ashiq Palace.
Attacking the Al-Alimi Council, Shatara added: “Despite their utter failure since Hadi’s legitimacy until today and forever Aden will be the capital of the south.”
He addressed Al-ALIMI and the head of pro-coalition government, Maeen Abdulmalik regarding the deteriorating situation in Aden; “You have to work from it to provide the People their needs which are the first priority.”
He mocked al-Alimi and members of the government loyal to the coalition, “Whoever has no value in his province, will have no value in our capital,” referring to those leaders who are outcast even in their areas of Taiz.
