Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud says normalization of ties with Israel is in the interest of the whole region, in yet another signal for Riyadh’s path to normalization with Israeli authorities.
“We have said consistently that we believe normalization with Israel is something that is very much in the interest of the region,” the minister told Bloomberg on Thursday on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
He said “true normalization” will be realized only if Palestinians are given their “state.”
“However, true normalization and true stability will only come through giving the Palestinians hope through giving the Palestinians dignity … and that requires giving the Palestinians a state,” he said. The minister said the priority is to bring Palestinians and Israelis to the negotiating table.
