The President of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC), Aidarous Al-Zubaidi was severely insulted in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden.
Citizens tore pictures of al-Zubaidi in a number of Aden districts, in addition to toppling his statue in the clock roundabout in the Crater area, mere hours after the posters were put up.
The STC militia carried out a security campaign to track down those behind the tearing up of al-Zubaidi’s pictures.
The popular unrest comes in light of the widespread discontent of the people of Aden with the practices of the STC and its president, including the STC’s tampering with public money and their imposition of enforced royalties on merchants and citizens.
