Reports on overdue Saudi payment of Yemeni government employee salaries untrue, government spokesman says

A number of media outlets allegedly circulated reports on the arrival of a Saudi plane carrying salaries for employees, amid continued leaks about the ongoing negotiations between Sana’a and Riyadh.

In a response to the allegations, Spokesman for the National Salvation Government, Minister of Information Daifallah Al-Shami, denied the arrival of a Saudi plane carrying money and considered it a false news.

Al-Shami tweeted: “The enemy is working hard to penetrate the Yemeni home front, and with every achievement it spreads rumors, the latest of which is the rumor of the arrival of a plane carrying an amount money ( salaries), which is false news. What happened in the corridors of negotiations cannot be dealt with in the media until it becomes a reality.”

He added: “The path of peace is not written by pens, but made by attitudes.”

However, Al-Shami did not deny the arrival of a Saudi delegation, at a time when flight tracker platforms had recorded a flight of a Saudi military plane from Riyadh to Sana’a.
