To Prevent Shipping Delays in Hodeidah, National Salvation Government Demands UN Inspection and Verification Mechanism be Abolished and Replaced

The National Salvation Government announced the arrival of commercial ships in Hodeidah port, western Yemen, and stressed the need to cancel the UN Verification and Inspection Mechanism (UNVIM).

“It (UNIVM) provides only an insufficient glimmer of hope. The direct passage of all commercial ships to the ports of Hodeidah – without detention or delay – is an initial step in the right direction, ” Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein al-Ezzi tweeted.

“This step must be strengthened and expanded through abolishing UNVIM,” he said.

Al-Ezzi called on all sides to take more positive actions and practice joint-cooperation to enhance the chances of peace.
